"Cuco" (September 2012)
11" x 14" Sumi Ink and Watercolor on Watercolor paper

This piece is an accompanying illustration to my first "Illustrative Mask Making" project. The project requires us to make a mask based on folklore from our ancestry. I chose Cuco, the Portuguese boogeyman. I started the mask today, and will post pictures of that as it progresses. I may also work up another drawing for Cuco. I have another composition I would like to try. Either way, it had been a long time since I had used watercolors, and it was a fun exercise.
