"I Remember Nothing" Parts 1-8 (December 2010)9"x12" Mixed Media Collages on Bristol
This series was inspired by the Joy Division song "I Remember Nothing", and Raymond Carver's Poem "Sunday Night". In “I Remember Nothing,” the experience that I am attempting to recreate is the sense of confusion that one feels when they try to remember their dreams. I wanted to create a visual representation of what it would be like to dream the imagery in Carver's poem, and then try to remember the same dream later on. Some details are translated from the poem into this series quite literally, while others are loosely interpreted, if not washed out entirely. “I Remember Nothing” is the first time that I have attempted to produce a series made up mostly of abstract collage art.
