The Dawn Patrol
"The Dawn Patrol" (April 2012)

This painting was for my Illustration 1 Near/Far assignment, where a figure in the foreground had to be connected to a figure/object in the background creating a story in one image. This isn't the best picture of the piece. A lot of the textures were lost, and the bright green in the footprint is much more vibrant in real life.

Everyone listened, and everyone was listening still when It lumbered slobberingly into sight and gropingly squeezed Its gelatenous green immensity through the black doorway into the tainted outside air of that poison city of madness."

An assignment for my Illustration 1 class. We had to illustrate a scene from a children's book that was based on a sentence. My sentence was: "When the clock struck twelve, he knew it was finally over."
