Wickerman

"Wickerman" (October 2013)
16" x 20" x 2" Transfers and Acrylic on Birch panel

More from my ongoing thesis project on Witchcraft and the Occult

Be Safe

"Be Safe" (October 2013)
16" x 20" x 2" Collage, Acrylic, and Gouache on Textured Gallery Wrap Canvas

This was the first project for my Illustration IV class. The theme of the assignment was "Communication" and it had to fit in to our target market(s). Looking around Boston, I always notice the ads trying to take advantage of you and sell you a product or idea. Sometimes we get so overloaded with information that we will walk right by a more positive or human message.

Lost Ghosts Triptych

"Lost Ghosts 1-3" (September 2013)
3 - 9" x 12" x 2" Mixed media pieces on textured gallery wrap canvases

These pieces will be on display at this year's Big Collage: Dark Arts show on October 5th.

I Was Born A Wicked Man

"I Was Born A Wicked Man" (September 2013)
16" x 20" x 2" Transfers, Acrylic, and Gouache on Birch Panel.

Sometimes referred to as "the wickedest man in the world," Aleister Crowley was the founder of Thelema, a member of a number of occult societies, an acclaimed author, and it is rumored that he was a spy for British Intelligence. He was no friend of witches, but his role in the history of ceremonial magic earned him a place in my thesis project.

Palmistry 2.0

"Palmistry 2.0" (September 2013)
16" x 20" x 2" Transfers and Acrylic on Wood Panel

Another revisited piece from my ongoing thesis project.

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari

I just designed the poster for the movie screening at this year's Big Collage Halloween Meltdown. This year they are showing The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari with a live original soundtrack by The Infra-Men. This event also falls on the fifth birthday of Big Collage. I'm proud to say that I have had the honor of showing work in every Big Collage Halloween show (plus a bunch of others). I will have a few pieces on display at this year's Dark Arts show on October 5th. This October is going to be pretty epic.

The Mad Monk 2.0

"The Mad Monk 2.0" (September 2013)
16" x 20" x 2" Mixed Media on Textured Wood Panel

This piece was revisited for my ongoing thesis project. The previous version was composed entirely with ink and photoshop, and lacked the presence of the other mixed media pieces in the same series. I ended up using Collage, Acrylic, and Transfers on a textured wood panel to achieve a similar effect to the larger pieces produced for my thesis project. I am very happy with the results, and am planning different ways to achieve a similar effect with much larger pieces
